Eszter Herold, Hungarian dancer, choreographer and stage movement teacher (member of L1 Assosiation) has created a multi art project plan in Spring 2013 and has addressed several artists from different surfaces to work together with her.
In the focus of her attention was the physiological and psychical state of a woman, whose body is ready for conception – time is passing by and she still lacks the baby her body desires for. A kind of biological and pschyical erosion is starting which she tries to arrest. The project is a trial of understanding, observing and finding peace and rest in this waiting-wasting period.
From the artists who were asked to cooperate Zsuzsi Palman (visual artist) and Ádám Márton Horváth (sound designer) were the most inspired and persistent ones, with whom Eszter Herold stayed together and they have formed a small but strong team. During one and a half year they have created 9 pieces, 9 ICONS – in parrallel to the 9 months of pregnancy – observing the main topic from 9 different points of view. From that 9 work of art there are 3 SOLO PERFORMANCES, 1 DUET DANCE PIECE, 2 DANCE VIDEOS and 3 FINE ART WORKS.
With the first two dance ICONS Eszter Herold has won the Jarmila Jeřábková Award 2013 (competition for young choreographers) in the phrames of New Europe Festival at Duncan Centre, Prague.
The project has also won VARP-PA Individual Artist Residency 2014. Thanks to that possibility and great support Eszter Herold and Zsuzsi Palman have spent a part of their summer at Hradec Králové, CZ, been working on Convex Project.
By this time – just as a non expected miracle – there was a third soul with them, Eszter’s son in her womb. His natural wisdom and power has given very important and unreproducable elements to the creating process.
